CLOVIS, NM (January 9, 2020)—Spectra, a national leader in venue management, hospitality and partnerships, has named industry professional Kadee Hande as the new general manager for the Curry County Events Center, effective Monday, January 13. Hande comes to Curry County with twelve years of industry experience, with roles ranging from livestock coordinator to marketing manager.
As general manager for the events center, Hande will plan for the facility’s efficient use and financial success through strategic booking and management.
“I am thrilled to be joining the Spectra team at Curry County Events Center, and to roll my sleeves up and get started in this great community,” Hande said. “As we kickoff this new year, we’ll take a look at enhancing the venue’s big-name events, like the upcoming 100th Curry County Fair, as well as improving and expanding our year-round offerings for the Clovis community.”
The multi-functional Curry County Events center, which celebrated its 10 years of service in 2019, is fully equipped to host rodeos, livestock sales, kennel shows, concerts, circuses, trade shows, conventions, sporting events, and a vast array of other private and public events including weddings and receptions. Spectra has managed the facility since its opening in 2009.
“With Kadee’s professionalism, hands-on experience in similar markets, and her proven successes, we trust that she is the right community partner for us,” Lance Pyle, County Manager, said. “We look forward to continued collaboration with Kadee and the Spectra team at Curry County Events Center and Fairgrounds.”
Originally from Rhame, N.D., Hande has extensive event managing, sales and marketing experience with South Dakota-based Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo, and the Central States Fairgrounds in Rapid City. Hande has played a key role in community and industry organizations in her previous roles, joining state and local tourism boards and chambers of commerce, as well as the North American Livestock Shows and Rodeo Managers Association. During her time in South Dakota, Kadee also served as an honorary commander for Ellsworth Airforce Base.
Keller Taylor, district general manager for Spectra, added: “Kadee’s sales and marketing experience related to large stock shows and rodeos, combined with her community-centric approach, makes her the perfect fit for Curry County. We’re excited to see the continued success at this Spectra-managed venue in Clovis.”
